THE festive season kicks off in style with Otley’s Christmas Lights Switch-On 2024, taking place on Monday, November 25th from 5.30pm in Market Place.
A magical evening awaits, with festive music from Lights Out, Otley Brass Band, and the Otley All Saints School Choir creating the perfect holiday atmosphere. Local favourite Sam Stevens will perform this year’s Otley Christmas Song, while the ever-entertaining Danny Malin of Rate My Takeaway will add his trademark charm to the festivities.
At 7pm, the lights will be switched on in spectacular fashion by Leeds Rhinos brothers Ned and Fergie McCormack, joined by the Otley Carnival Stars and Otley Town Mayor Penny Robinson. To top it all off, a dazzling firework show will light up the sky, marking the start of the Christmas period in Otley.
A spokesperson for Otley Town Council said: "Adding to the fun, there’ll be circus acts, puppetry, and fairground rides for the whole family to enjoy. Tasty treats from The Pie Collective and warming Fairtrade coffee will help keep everyone cosy as they soak in the festive cheer.
"Don’t miss this magical evening that brings the whole town together to celebrate the start of the festive season!"
