An 18-year-old man was left fighting for his life after a road accident in Menston.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in the early hours of Sunday, June 21.
The teenager had been driving a white Seat Ibiza which left Bingley Road, went through a fence into a field and crashed into a tree.
The victim, who has not been named, did not appear to be badly hurt in the collision but was subsequently taken seriously ill and was treated in the intensive care department of Bradford Royal Infirmary where he remained in a critical condition.
Police said yesterday that his condition had improved and he was ‘stable and improving’. Officers have appealed for anyone who saw the collision at around 3.30am, to call PC 4974 Turner on 0113 239 5031 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
They would also like to speak to anyone who saw the Seat being driven in or around the Menston, Ilkley or Burley-in-Wharfedale areas at the time.
