Pool had to be patient when they faced Wortley in the final of the West Riding Girls’ League Under-16 Shield at Hemsworth Miners’ Welfare.
In a game which was played in good spirit, Pool could have secured victory much earlier in the contest, having a number of chances.
However, they finally found the back of the net in the 70th minute, a well-taken goal by Rianne Woodham securing a 1-0 victory.
The girls would like to thank all their supporters for travelling to Hemsworth, and to Mick from Winter Products Ltd for sponsoring them this season.
* Pool Pumas are looking to recruit players for the 2010-11 season.
If you will be in Year Seven from this September and are looking for a friendly and welcoming 11-a-side team, please call Adrian Bouchard (01132-168852 home or 07913-796037 mobile) for more information.
The club run two under-11 teams (the managers are Wayne and Adrian) but also want under-12 players (Year Eight) for next season in a side run by Paul Moore.
Ideally, the club want to run sides in the Harrogate League but may be given more time by the league if they know they are recruiting.
But players are asked to make themselves known promptly as the league have team registration deadlines.
