A crash involving a school bus and two cars held up traffic at Leathley this morning.
The driver of the Optare Solo single decker bus was on his way to pick up passengers when the accident happened at about 6.45am outside the Hunter's Inn, on the A658 Harrogate Road.
The incident involved a Vauxhall Corsa, a Citroen Xsara and the bus and caused a fuel spill, which was tackled by North Yorkshire firefighters. The bus driver was injured and two other people suffered minor injuries.
North and West Yorkshire Police introduced traffic diversions as long tailbacks built up on either side of the scene, and the road was closed in both directions for several hours, affecting rush-hour traffic.
