ST JOHN’S CHURCH: Sunday is an especially big day for St John’s for, after the morning service, the annual meeting takes place when all the senior officers are elected, along with members of the Parochial Church Council. A massive change will be the end of Joyce Simpson’s six years as churchwarden. St John’s and also the village of Menston owe a great deal to Joyce, whose constant hard work, imaginative leadership and absolute charm to everyone will be hard to replace. The meeting will also receive reports on all the church’s activities. Copies available from the parish office. Services on Sunday are 8am holy communion, 10am parish eucharist followed by the annual meeting at 11.15am, 6pm evensong.
