£3,500 is raised for patients
The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes in Otley has raised £3,520 for a hospital patients charity.
The local lodge of the RAOB collected the money for Take Heart by holding various activities during 2013.
Brother Peter Cundall KOM (Knight Order of Merit), who was the group’s Provincial Grand Primo last year, chose Take Heart as his cause after seeing at first hand while recovering from a heart attack the work it does.
He handed the money over to the charity’s chairman, Colin Pullan MBE, at Otley’s Grove Hill Club where Mr Pullan gave a speech of thanks.
He also explained how Take Heart would use the funds to further improve patient comfort at St James’ University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, and other units within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
BRIDGE CLUB: On Monday, March 24, six tables played 24 boards, N/S: 1st Mr Kilburn & Mrs Streets, 2nd Mr Martin & Mrs Pearson; E/W: 1st Mr & Mrs Waite, 2nd Mrs Denmark & Mr Joule.
