RAWDON brothers Max and Luka Denison joined their parents and granddad on a 17 km walk along the Leeds Liverpool canal from Bingley to Rodley to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.
The boys were raising funds in memory of their great-grandfather Charlie Mawson who died aged 90 in January 2021 having lived with Alzheimer's for some years.
Max, ten, and Luka, eight, were keen to count the contributions made by passersby and even more delighted when the total came to £200.
"It was a long way and I got tired, but we collected a lot of money," said Luka.
Max added: "We were pleased that we did this walk in memory of great-grandad Charlie who had lived a long life and been a senior policeman."
Charlie Mawson, who lived his whole life in Bramley, had enjoyed a naval career before rising to the rank of police superintendant and was awarded the QGM for policing at the Bradford football ground fire in 1985.
"All the family and possibly Charlie himself say well done to his two great-grandsons," added the boys' mother Lucy Denison.
