A famous name has come joined Guiseley as their new reserve keeper – James Montgomery from Middlesbrough.

The 19-year-old is the grandson of former Sunderland shot-stopper Jim Montgomery, who defied Leeds United with that tremendous double save when the Wearsiders upset the odds with a 1-0 win in the 1973 FA Cup final.

Also signing on the dotted line is Youth Academy keeper Tom Stewart and defender or midfielder Spencer Harris, who has featured in several of Guiseley’s pre-season matches.

He is a former Huddersfield Town player who is awaiting international clearance as he has been based in Western Australia.

Admission to Saturday’s match against Solihull is £12 for adults, £7 for children and concessions, £4 for 12-16 year-olds and free for accompanied uUnder-12s.

Any young person under 16 registered with a junior football club – on presentation of a copy of a registration card – can also attend free of charge.

Guiseley have also announced the appointments of Katie Brooksbank and David Cocker as commercial and marketing managers respectively.
