Ilkley Motor Club won the Yorkshire League Inter-Club championship for the 12th consecutive time on Boxing Day at Harry Ramsden's car park at White Cross where British autotest champion David Mosey headed the Ilkley attack.

The local man, he lives within a mile of the famous fish restaurant, drove to the fastest time in 18 tests in his Mini saloon.

Twentyfour drivers battled against the clock to snatch precious seconds. John Graves was the best competitor from the organising club, the Yorkshire Sports Car Club, in his Vauxhall Nova, from Otley's Graham Hepworth and Baildon's Henry Kitching, who will be the next President of the Ilkley club.
