Howden Clough 1 Pool 4
POOL stretched their lead in West Yorkshire League Division One to eight points with a gutsy victory at Howden Clough.
They got off to a good start and calmed any nerves they might have had when top scorer Tom Fleming netted.
The striker added to his tally when he netted the rebound after a cross from Harvey Atkinson.
Howden Clough were taking no prisoners and were gifted a goal via a penalty. Goalkeeper Andy Caine brought down the home side’s centre forward when they tangled going for a through ball.
Pool recovered their composure when Jordan Wagstaff fired home his first goal of the season.
Pool were then awarded a penalty for hand ball. Fleming stepped up to complete his hat-trick.
Pool reserves suffered their third-successive defeat when they went down 3-1 at home to Wyke Wanderers Reserves. Mitchell Lambert-Tuthill was their scorer.
Adam Dean (2) and Dean Herron were the scorers for Pool A as they defeated Westbrook YMCA 3-2 in the Harrogate League Division Two.
