Featherstone Colliery 0 Pool 1
LEADERS Pool produced one of their worst performances of the season and were lucky to defeat the West Yorkshire League Division One’s bottom club.
Battling Featherstone belied their position as they lifted their game to create a good chance in the first minute which they squandered.
They continued to harass Pool without producing many more chances until the visitors took the lead.
The best move in the match resulted in Pool’s top scorer Tom Fleming placing his shot perfectly to ease their nerves.
It took Pool until midway through the second half to really start playing.
They created several chances to seal the match and one shot was cleared off the line.
Pool’s management will be hoping that their team will have learned that all sides must be respected.
The consolation for them is the fact they remain eight points clear.
l POOL Reserves ended their run of defeats with a 2-2 draw against Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves in Alliance Division Two. Their scorers were Billy Drake and Neil Ebdon in a match where they conceded a last-minute equaliser.
The Pool A team were beaten 6-2 by Addingham in their Harrogate League game.
Adam Dean and Jim Smith netted for Pool.
