Guiseley will be fighting for their National League future against Torquay at Nethermoor on Saturday.
The Lions are facing the prospect of relegation after just one season following a disastrous set of results last weekend.
Mark Bower’s men lost 1-0 at Boreham Wood and Halifax claimed a shock 1-0 win at Forest Green, plunging Guiseley into the relegation zone with just one game remaining. They lie fourth bottom and one point behind Halifax and Boreham Wood, so they must beat Torquay at Nethermoor on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off) and hope results elsewhere go in their favour.
Boreham Wood travel to already relegated Welling on Saturday and rivals Halifax host mid-table Macclesfield, who have little to play for.
Yet Bower stressed: “We can’t think it’s over and have got to look to get the win this weekend to put pressure on the other teams in the same boat as us.
“We’ve just got to win against Torquay and it’s not a case of worrying about what is going on elsewhere.
“If we play like we did in the second half against Boreham Wood and create the same amount of chances, then we should win the game.
“But if we’re not going to stick it in the net, then it makes it so difficult. That final touch has deserted us for the majority of the season and it really did sting us last weekend.”
Guiseley have only scored 43 goals in 45 games this season and only Boreham Wood 43 and Welling 41 have scored less.
