BEN Rhydding faced another long journey to play Chester and with three key players missing, they took three points off their hosts with 2-0 win in a tight game.
In the first 15 minutes, both sides were cautious in possession, but Chester had three corners, all superbly defended by Rhydding.
Then young Carrick Matthews was scythed down in the circle, drawing a corner for Rhydding, which they Will Musgrave despatched to put Rhydding 1-0 up.
With Chester's captain going off with an injury early in the second half, Rhydding began to take control.
Many chances went begging as Chester’s keeper made some fine saves.
With six minutes to go, Chester took their keeper off but Rhydding sliced through and Max Helme finished an easy goal to seal the game.
Josh Hughes in goal had an outstanding performance to keep a clean sheet.
Ben Rhydding Ladies also kept a clean sheet away at Stourport.
This weekend the ladies travel south for a big weekend with league games at Swansea on Saturday and Gloucester on Sunday, while the men play Formby at home.
