SQUADS of City’s senior and age group swimmers who all train with Bradford Aquatics Competition Programme travelled to Ponds Forge Sheffield to compete in the North East Region Junior/ Open and Age Group Championships.
Top ten places were hard to come by for City’s swimmers at the Age Group event and it was twelve year old Ciara O’Carroll who claimed fourth place in the 100m individual medley and tenth place in the 50m butterfly. She also finished in the top twenty in the 50m breaststroke.
Robbie Ambler had three top twenty finishes and Harry Schmidt two from Ilkley. Other meet qualifiers were, Laura Temple, Jasmine Shay, Evelyn Gledhill and Will Skiggs (Guiseley).
Sisters Alex and Rebecca Dunn were in fine form in their respective age groups. Swimming in the junior events fourteen year old Alex claimed fourth place in the 50m breaststroke in a time of 35.26.
She was followed by older sister Rebecca swimming in the open events. She qualified for the Winter Nationals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke with times of 1.14.64 and 2.40.44 respectively and claimed her third tenth place finish in the shorter 50m event.
