YARNBURY RFC are encouraging club members and their partners to attend the scattering of ashes and memorial lunch, to celebrate the contribution to Yarnbury RFC of their late President, Raymond Johnson.
In honour of the Yarnbury legend, the scheduled date is February 26, 2022.
Raymond sadly passed away in February 2021, living through to his nineties.
‘El Presidente’, a name he was given after marching Yarnbury out on their first ever visit to the home of English rugby Twickenham in 2014, was the life and soul of the club.
Joining the Horsforth-based side in 1951, Raymond witnessed it all as he lived and breathed rugby, eventually retiring from playing the sport at the grand age of 75.
The timings of the day are as follows: 11.45am Guests arrive – please gather in the Clubhouse
12.00pm-Scattering of Ray’s ashes in the Memorial Garden
