MENSTON Crompark have given early evidence that they will be in the hunt for promotion come the end of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division Three season.
The newcomers batted first at home to promoted Keighley III and restricted them to 104-9, which would have been much less were it not for an unbroken last-wicket stand of 54 between Paul Barker (33no) and Rahim Hussain (19no).
Matt Poucher again led the attack with 4-12, backed up by Will Morgan (2-31) and Qasim Hassan (2-32).
Cian Cryer (2-34) and Tashir Mehmood (2-15) then gave Keighley hope as they reduced Crompark to 67-6 but opener Robert Hodgson (42no) and Julian Atkinson (21no) then put on 38 unbroken as the hosts won by four wickets to go fifth with a game in hand.
Crompark’s second XI gave Sutton II a walkover in Division Four.
