MENSTON Crompark have suffered a second successive double defeat in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.
Their first XI were at Gargrave II in Division Three and, sent in, made 171-9, Tim Yeardley (36) and Tom Holder (19) setting them on their way with a second-wicket partnership of 55 before captain David Holder scored 21 and Qasim Hassan 20.
Crompark them used seven bowlers to try and break down Gargrave’s batting, but Will Morgan’s 2-34 was the best they could muster as the hosts won by six wickets in the 33rd over.
Batting first in Division Four against top-of-the-table Silsden II, Menston Crompark II could only total 116-9, with No 11 Iain Jennings leading the way with 23 not out in an unbroken stand of 34 with Chris Woodthorpe (4no).
Silsden won by seven wickets in the 29th over.
