SEVERAL local swimmers have got a huge summer of activity ahead.
First up is Archie Minto, from Ilkley, who will be taking a trip to the renowned Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.
From July 22-28 the National Selection events will be taking place in South Yorkshire, and Minto will be competing in the 100 and 200 Fly.
In August (2-6), there will be three local swimmers competing at Ponds Forge - this time for the Swim England National Summer Meet.
Minto will return to Sheffield for this event to compete in the 200 Individual Medley, while Alex Dunn, Guiseley, will compete in the 100 and 50 freestyle events.
Samantha Knowles, Burley in Wharfedale, will also be in attendance and she’ll battle it out in the 100 and 50 backstroke events.
All of these swimmers train on the Bradford Aquatics Competition programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
