HAVING lost five matches and conceded another to start their life in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League, Menston Crompark II have now won their last two completed matches in Division Four.
They followed up their victory over Bradley II by defeating visitors Bowling Baptist II to make it two from two at High Royds.
Sent in in a 10-a-side contest, fellow Craven League newcomers Baptist were dismissed for 95, with the majority of their runs coming from No 3 Mueed Malik (23) and No 9 Andrew George (26), with Imran Muzafar (12) the only other player to reach double figures.
Ali Asghar (4-20) was the main Crompark bowler, but they also struggled in reply, losing seven wickets before passing their target.
Openers Jim Moor (14) and captain Mark Cooper (14) did their bit in a stand of 29, but the result was in jeopardy at 47-7 before Harry Bates (24no) and Iain Jennings (18no) added 50 unbroken to take Crompark home.
Crompark’s first XI were handed a walkover by Keighley III in Division Three, with the latter unable to cope with having their first and second XI also playing on the Sabbath in the Bradford Premier League.
