BURLEY-in-Wharfedale’s Alison Kinloch has made it five wins in a row by taking the final round of the Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross Association’s Points Series at a muddy Peel Park in Bradford.
It follows the Shibden Cycling Club rider’s victories at Barnsley, Pontefract, Wakefield and Sheffield.
However, the fact that Kinloch missed the opening three rounds at Wyke (Bradford), Myrtle Park (Bingley) and Temple Newsam (Leeds) meant that she only finished third overall in the standings behind Geri Gorton and Rachel Lightfoot.
Meanwhile, Otley’s Jake Thornton (Chevin Cycles) came second in the boys’ under-12 race at Peel Park to continue a remarkably consistent campaign.
The 11-year-old Pool Primary School pupil has never been off the podium this winter, winning one race in the series, finishing runner-up five times and being third twice.
