Paddles are up at Kingston Kayak Club (KKC) as they head into 2024 bigger and better than before!
Founded in 1983 and debuting as Wolfreton School Canoe Club, KKC has since evolved into a close-knit community and an ideal place for water sport lovers. They have achieved British Canoeing top club of the year in both 2010 and 2014, making it renowned for being an excellent space for experienced and learner paddlers alike.
The club is based at Albert Avenue Pools Complex in Hull which recently underwent an extensive 10-million-pound refurbishment that included the renovation of their outdoor pool. This has allowed KKC to practice and do activities in more advanced facilities, creating a safe space where learners can aim and reach even higher than before.
KKC has different activities for everyone. Whether it’s canoeing, kayaking or paddleboarding, they accommodate to many water sports and welcome people of all ages and abilities to come and give it a go. Sessions are currently being ran on Mondays at the Albert Avenue site with costs varying due to ages and memberships. Various exciting trips and adventures are run throughout the year by the club that supply useful and inspiring information and skills.
Volunteer run, KKC also offers coaching development and courses that can be taken to enhance and build upon skills.
Overall, Kingston Kayak Club is a friendly and welcoming community that supplies enriching sporting opportunities for the surrounding area that greets all newcomers with open and supportive arms. If you are interested in water sports and live nearby, then KKC is for you!
