YARNBURY lost ground in the Counties Two Yorkshire title race last Saturday.
They faced a tricky away game at leaders Wath Upon Dearne, knowing they could go top with a bonus point win.
But a defeat had the potential to leave them nine points off the summit, which is what came to pass, as the hosts recorded an impressive 38-26 victory.
Yarnbury sit third behind Wath and second-placed North Ribblesdale, but should get their title hopes back on track this Saturday at home to rock-bottom Leeds Corinthians.
