MENSTON Fourths are through to the semi-finals of a Timothy Taylor’s Craven League knock-out competition.
They have topped the standings in the John Clayton Cup and will be at home to Sutton II on Sunday, July 14.
The other semi-final in the 40-overs-per-side competition is Silsden II v Skipton CI II.
Menston finished their mini-league at home to Sutton, who opted to bat and made 139-8, with Pieter Pretorius taking 3-11 and Owen Pothecary 3-26.
The home side then timed their run chase nicely, winning by two wickets with 20 balls to spare.
Alex Tune scored 48, putting on 40 for the fifth wicket with Will Lowans (11) after Satnam Thiara had scored 24.
Menston’s fifth team came close to victory in the Cowling Cup, losing by only two runs at Ingrow II.
Sent in, Ingrow made 104-8 in their 20 overs, with the wickets being shared between 13-year-old Henry Dodgson (3-16), 14-year-old Will Birkett (2-21) and 15-year-old Harry Edwards (2-17).
Menston then paid the price for three run outs, finishing on 102-9, with captain and keeper Tim Yeardley making 21 and 15-year-old Isaac Rashid 29.
