MENSTON Fourths have swapped places with Gargrave II after defeating them by five wickets in Timothy Taylor’s Craven League Division Three.
The home side sent in Gargrave and rolled them over for 97 inside 30 overs as all six bowlers took wickets.
Menston were then indebted to Matt Sporle, whose unbeaten 53 from 47 balls, including nine fours and a six, took them home in 23.3 overs.
Keeper Max Hurford (25 not out) accompanying him in an unbroken partnership of 48 when the match was up for grabs at 53-5.
Gargrave II are now seventh and Menston IV sixth.
On the flip side, Menston Fifths have dropped a place to ninth in Division Four after a 28-run defeat at Airedale II.
Asked to bat, Airedale stuttered to 66-5 but recovered to 130, although they lost their last three wickets at that mark.
Marcus Woodthorpe took 3-19 and James Woodthorpe, the eighth bowler used, 3-10.
Ali Asghar (44) top scored in the reply, but the sum total was only 102 as they collapsed from 91-6.
