OTLEY have won the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division title with three matches to go.

They clinched the championship at Cross Green, winning a run-fest against Waddilove Cup holders Horsforth Hall Park.

The visitors won the toss and made 273, Michael Loubser again hitting the heights with 125 off 60 deliveries, including 15 fours and seven sixes.

He added 166 for the second wicket with captain Steve Phillips (59) before Steve Brown (3-83) and Sam Kellett (3-57), who dismissed both of them, got among the wickets.

Undaunted, however, Otley won by four wickets before the 40th over, keeper Alex Atkinson (86 off 81 balls, including 14 fours and three sixes) and George Myers (58) setting the tone with an opening stand of 111 in 13 overs.

The good work was then carried on by Ben Morley (49), who put on 81 with Alex Atkinson, captain Josh Atkinson, Jake Ross and Brown (25no) then hurrying Otley to the finish line off the penultimate ball of the 39th over, Jacob Phillips taking 4-79.

Otley are 69 points ahead of Collingham with only 60 points to play for.

Third-placed Burley were involved in the match of the day, however, at home to Rawdon, who sent in the hosts and saw them tot up 270.

Rawdon then won by one wicket off the last ball to remain 26 points behind Steeton, but still second from bottom.

Pool have dropped to third on the back of a comprehensive defeat at home to Collingham, who climbed above both them and Burley.

Collingham made 236-9, Saw Lawrence doing well to take 6-50, before Pool were toppled for a mere 83, with only three players making double figures.

In Division Two, Addingham have definitely been promoted but are not yet certain of the silverware as Beckwithshaw, who are at Addingham on Saturday, are 47 points behind.

Addingham won the toss at Follifoot and put immediate pressure on the home side with an opening stand of 200 between Ricky Palacio (160) and James Hall (60).

Hall hit eight fours and Palacio 25 fours and four sixes in a innings of just 124 deliveries, Nick Farrell (26) then adding 60 with him for the second wicket.

Palacio then completed a superb match by taking 3-47, Richard Atkins bagging 2-27 and Luke Bott 2-20 as Addingham bounced back immediately from top-flight relegation.

Ilkley, who are a distant third, were even more comprehensive winners in their derby at Olicanian, racking up 280-2 after winning the toss.

Keeper Will Spivey scored 129, putting on 132 for openers with Robbie Murray (44) before Spivey found another willing partner in Will Jones (86no) as they added 137.

Spivey faced 146 balls, hitting 20 fours, while Jones hit 11 fours and a six off just 61 deliveries as Olicanian chased leather.

The hosts were then shot out for 42 inside 20 overs, Paul Dover taking 3-14 and Rob Spivey 6-22, with only No 9 Stephen Wilkinson (13) making double figures.

Mid-table Guiseley didn’t fare much better at Colton, who made 233 after winning the toss, Aniket Rana bagging 6-61 before the visitors were back in the pavilion for 94, opener Viraj Bhosale hitting 25 and No 10 Vir Bhatia 25 not out.

Menston are up from Division Two, and did it in style with a nine-wicket win against Horsforth at The Fox.

The visitors batted first but could only score 178, Alex Wiggan hitting a half-century as Sarfaraz Ahmed took 5-71 and James Lowans 3-41.

Menston lost captain Adam Montague-Millar early, but their No 4 probably got pad rash as Tom Mounsey (78no) and Fraser Oates (84no) put on 167 unbroken as they won by nine wickets in the 35th over.

The leaders need another 21 points from three matches to be sure of the title, which they should achieve before the last fixture.

Green Lane, who have been deducted three points for a slow over rate, fell to a 58-run defeat at home to Old Leodiensians, who scored 251-9 after winning the toss, Neil Britton taking 3-63 and Dan Frost 3-53.

The hosts were then 63-6 but finished on 191 thanks to 66 from Bradley Hallas and 64 from Britton in a stand of 113 for the seventh wicket.

Leeds Modernians had one of their best wins of the season, defeating third-placed Shadwell by three wickets at the Brandon Oval.

Shadwell won the toss and made 244-7, Elliott Coultas taking 4-40, but Mods passed that total with 16 balls to spare, Chris Dalby (61) and captain Jonathan Wiggan (67) setting them on the right path with a stand of 115 for openers before Ashley Rowden (63no) saw his team home.
