MENSTON Fourths have slipped to sixth in Division Three of the Timothy Taylor’s Craven League after a 45-run defeat at home to leaders Long Lee.
Sent in, the visitors made 146, despite Rob Binley taking 7-40.
The hosts were then dismissed for 101, which was a recovery after eight batters mustered only 24 between them.
Alistair Adams (34), Tom Holder (24no) and Binley (19) helped Menston just reach three figures as they were back in the pavilion for 101.
Menston Fifths won, however, in Division Four, restricting hosts Haworth II to 107-9 in their 40 overs, James Woodthorpe taking 5-18 and Dan Biddulph 2-20.
The visitors were in a hurry after tea, knocking the runs off in just 11 overs for the loss of four wickets as they went into T20 mode.
Opener Biddulph made 35 off 23 balls, including five fours and a six, while Rory Southern hit 62 off a mere 27 deliveries, which contained five fours and six sixes, adding 72 for the second wicket.
