The weekend saw many Otley Cycle Club members in action, both club riding and racing.
The Fast Section went to Barley near Pendle Hill by way of Gargrave, Nappa Bank and Bolton by Bowland returning by Colne and Skipton and Bolton Abbey to cover 82 miles.
The B Section went to the York Cycle Rally. Their route was by Kirby Overblow, Wetherby, Wighill and Askham Bryan, returning the same way to give 62 miles.
On Saturday racing members took part in the Vets National 25 miles Championship near Boroughbridge and recorded the following times: Ged Milward 56-46; Chris Yates 57-13; Mike Shacklock 59-54; Sheldon Howcroft 1-7-16; Tony Bulmer 1-9-07; Peter Yates 1-11-17; John Churchman 1-11-37.
On Sunday the following members rode the YCF Open 15 to record the following times: Claire Jessop 43.08; Greg Jessop 42.47; James Cullen 37.15; Mike Shacklock 36.05.
The Club Championship 10 took place and was won by James Cullen in 24.43 with Claire Jessop taking the handicap award.
The Club Championship 25, covering two laps of the Pool Triangle was won by Ged Millward in 1.00.29 with Chris Dooley taking the handicap award.
On June 18, a 2-up round the Pool Triangle took place with the following results: Ian Cullen and James Cullen 27-26; Claire Jessop and Dave Harrison 32-47; Ged Millward and John Buddle 29-18; John Brittenden and David Shaw 35-35; Sheldon Howcroft and Tim Howcroft 29-36; Tony Bulmer and Steve Houghton 30-34; Jon Sharpe and Ralph Bentley 29-44; M Holloway and P Holmes 34-10; Mark Pimlott and Chris Dooley 31-44; Chris Hills and Harry Tarrant 28-02; Martin Tallontire and Adam Cox 32-42.
The current overall points leader for the triangle events is John Buddle on 27 points.
