Mick Hall of Guiseley carded a 21-14 success over Eccleshill’s Paul Hillam to win the Bradford Wednesday Merit.
Hall rolled back the years to lift his second major singles title in the Bradford area, having won the Bradford Merit in 2004.
He came through a tough quarter-final battle with Angela Carter (Pudsey Littlemoor) 21-18, before winning by the same score against Glen McCafferty (Asa Briggs) in the semis.
Hillam had also battled hard to make it to the final, following a 21-19 quarter-final win over Tony Riley (Brighouse Sports) with a 21-17 verdict against Tony Harris (Crossroads) in the last four.
Hillam would have fancied his chances against Hall on their past record but Hall eased to seven-point success to lift the title for the first time.

Harold Park shocked Guiseley in the quarter-finals of the Sharpes Estate Agents-sponsored Howarth Cup with a narrow seven-point win at Greengates.
Guiseley were up against it from the start, having to give their opponents a 40-point start, and with Park carding three winners, they booked a semi-final date with Eccleshill, who were comfortable winners over Greengates.
Drighlington, Horsforth Woodside, Bramley Libs and Pudsey BC avoided each other in the Radley Trophy quarter-finals and all will fancy their chances of progressing to the last four.
Draw: Hebden Royd Park v Drighlington, at Netherton Cons; Horsforth Woodside v Royds Park, at Slaithwaite; Slazengers v Bramley Libs, at Crossroads; Bridlington Westgate v Pudsey BC, at Tadcaster.
